Instructions for the Recorder of Performances
- Officials Required
- 1 x Front Straight
- 1 x Back Straight
- 1 x Circular Track
- 2 x Long Distance / Walks
- 3 x Long Jump / Triple Jump
- 2 x High Jump
- 2 x Shot Put
- 1 x Discus
- Officials are required to report to the Officials Coordinator before the
commencement of the program to:
- Sign In
- Obtain Officials tag
- Obtain Name tag
- Obtain Place Tickets (Long Distance / Walks & all field events only),
Recording Sheets, a pen, record information.
- Procedure
- Front Straight, Back Straight & Circular Track.
- There is a recording sheet for each age group and sex. At the start of the
season, there will be no athlete registration numbers printed on the sheets, but as the
season progresses, athletes who have competed in that event will have their registration
numbers printed on these sheets.
- You will be advised by the Chief Timekeeper of the event and the age group / sex,
so you should bring that recording sheet out ready for use.
- You should ensure that the Centre Record Time for the event is recorded on the
sheet, and advise the Chief Timekeeper of the time before the age group commences racing.
- On completion of the race, the athlete will come to the recording table with the
place ticket they have received from the timekeeper. You need to record the performance
shown on the athletes place ticket, on to the recording sheets next to the athletes
registration number if it is printed on the sheet. If it is not on the sheet, then
manually write the registration number. Return the ticket to the athlete and send them on
their way.
- You are not to record an athletes performance if an athlete provides you with a
ticket which does not have their registration number entered due to incorrect dress code.
(ie. no club colored top and / or no registration patch).
- In the event of a record or equal record for the event, the Chief
Timekeeper will not call "OK to Reset" watches until the following is complete.
- Both watches times need to be written on the recording sheet along with
the athletes name and registration number. Both watches need to be sighted by a NLAC
Committee Member, agreed to the entries on the recording sheet. The NLAC Committee Member
must sign the recording sheet to verify the information.
- When this is done the Chief Timekeeper calls "OK to Reset"
- Recording sheets for completed events will be progressively collected throughout
the morning by Computer Input persons.
- Long distance / walks
- There is a recording sheet for each age group and sex. At the start of the
season, there will be no athlete registration numbers printed on the sheets, but as the
season progresses, athletes who have competed in that event will have their registration
numbers printed on these sheets.
- You will be advised by the Chief Timekeeper of the event and the age group / sex,
so you should bring that recording sheet out ready for use.
- You should ensure that the Centre Record Time for the event is recorded on the
sheet, and advise the Chief Timekeeper of the time before the age group commences racing.
- On completion of the race, the athletes will be lined up in front of the
recording table in order of crossing the finish line. You will be provided with the
Printout from the stopwatch. You record the performance of the 1st placegetter (first in
line) from the printout on to the recording sheets next to the athletes registration
number if it is printed on the sheet. If it is not on the sheet, then manually write the
registration number. You need to complete a performance ticket for the athlete. Once
complete, give the athlete the ticket and send them on their way. Do the same process for
every athlete in the line.
- You are not to record an athletes performance if the athlete does not meet the
correct dress code. (ie. no club colored top and / or no registration patch). You may
however present the child with a performance ticket.
- In the event of a record or equal record for the event, the Chief
Timekeeper will not Reset watches until the following is complete.

the athletes name and registration number. Both watches need to be sighted by a NLAC

sheet, and advise the Chief Judge of the distance / height before the age group commences.
- You will record the athletes performance for each trial on to the recording
sheets next to the athletes registration number if it is printed on the sheet. If it is
not on the sheet, then manually write the registration number.
- On completion of the athletes trials, the athlete will come to the recording
table. You record the athletes best trial and then complete a performance ticket for the
athlete. Once complete, give the athlete the ticket and send them on their way. Do the
same process for every athlete in the event.
- You are not to record an athletes performance if the athlete does not meet the

however present the child with a performance ticket.
- In the event of a record or equal record for the event, the Chief Judge
will not allow the event to continue until the following is complete.
- The distance / height is written on the recording sheet along with the
athletes name and registration number. The distance / height needs to be verified by
a NLAC Committee Member, agreeing to the entries on the recording sheet. The NLAC
Committee Member must sign the recording sheet to verify the information.
- When this is done the Chief Judge continues the event.
- Recording sheets for completed events will be progressively collected throughout
the morning by Computer Input persons.
- On completion of the day, return your folder and official tag to the Official
Coordinator, and place your name tag in the Officials Prize Box.
